“Week of Action” to Boost Health Insurance Enrollment in the Latino Community

White House Deputy Assistant to the President for Health Policy to Headline Latino Leadership Symposium

Nationwide, the Latino community saw the biggest drops in uninsured rates thanks
to the Affordable Care Act (ACA). However, a recent study released by the Urban Institute shows that 1 in 5 Latino adults is still without health insurance.

DC Health Link, in collaboration with the DC Primary Care Association, La Clinica del Pueblo, Whitman-Walker Health, and Mary’s Center, is redoubling efforts to promote, educate and motivate Latino enrollment in affordable health insurance during National ACA Latino Week of Action. The Week of Action runs from Monday, January 11 to Sunday, January 17, 2016.

Multiple events will be planned for this week to educate Latino leaders about the vitally important role they can play in reaching Latino families to educate them about the important benefits of the Affordable Care Act, and the health insurance options available through DC Health Link, including financial resources to help pay plan premiums and expert enrollment support.
