Partnerships Manager

David Poms, Partnerships Manager, has 13 years of experience working in Washington, DC on social equity programs related to education, food, and health. David currently coordinates the DC PACT initiative, a cross-sector health coalition addressing the social determinants of health, which builds on his experience strengthening the capacity of the emergency food assistance network of the greater Washington, DC area at the Capital Area Food Bank, and his years of experience doing advocacy, outreach and education at City Year Washington, DC and as a Servant-Leader Intern and Youth Advocate Leadership Trainer with the Children’s Defense Fund. David is further developing new DCPCA member capacity building initiatives related to health equity and the structural determinants of health.

In 2023, David was selected for the Geiger Gibson Emerging Leader Award, a program of George Washington School of Public Health and the National Association of Community Health Centers, which recognizes young leaders whose specific work has helped further the health center mission of health care and better health for medically underserved patients, communities and special populations.

Prior to joining DCPCA, David completed a Master’s in Public Health at the University of Maryland, where he completed an internship with DCPCA, culminating in research and policy analysis projects that detail the path to building an accountable health community in Washington, DC. David is a native of the Washington, DC area and is passionate about building an equitable and inclusive region.
