DCPCA’s Policy team welcomes a new policy fellow, Oumou Ly, a recent graduate from George Mason University’s School for Conflict Analysis and Resolution (SCAR). Oumou is the recipient of the 2019-20 postundergraduate Shinnyo Fellowship, a 10-month paid fellowship to recent S-CAR undergraduates to serve with a conflict-related or peace-building organization and work to implement and institutionalize the Shinnyo-en Foundation’s philosophy of peace-building through service in the community.

From September 2019 to July 2020, Oumou will work with the policy team to support ongoing policy priority work around maternal, social, and behavioral health, use human centered design training to support work on food security and maternal health, and work to incorporate principles of peace building through service. Oumou is excited to work with DCPCA’s policy team as well as our partners and collaborators, and looks forward to attending graduate school in this field upon completion of her fellowship.
